Pocahontas County Parks and Recreation operates and maintains three county parks – Stillwell Park in Marlinton, Widney Park in Frank and East Cass Community Park – as well as the Community Wellness Center in Marlinton. They also offer a variety of programs, for all ages, throughout the county.

Their office is located in the Community Wellness Center, located at 320 9th Street, beside Marlinton Elementary School. The Wellness Center features a gymnasium, fitness room, raquetball court and two multi-purpose rooms. The gymnasium is available as an open gym for public use during non-school hours. The racquetball court, fitness room and multipurpose rooms are available for public use throughout the day. The fitness room requires a membership fee. Operating hours are 5:00am- 9:00pm Monday through Friday, and from 1:00-7:00pm on Saturday.

A variety of programs are offered at the Wellness Center, from exercise to arts and crafts, for preschoolers through adults. The multipurpose rooms are available for organizational meetings, as well as for private rentals for such things as birthday parties and baby showers.

Stillwell Park is located on Everette Tibbs Rd./Stillwell Park Rd. Nestled between the Greenbrier River and the Greenbrier River Trail, it features soccer/football fields, baseball fields, skateboard ramps and a nature trail. Three shelters are available for use, and can be reserved for a fee. Although generally for day use, overnight tent camping is allowed.
