The Marlinton Fire Department was established in June of 1906 & the rescue squad was added in 1955, all members being of volunteer status. Most calls are still covered by volunteers. There is a paid crew Monday-Friday from 8 am-4 pm that consists of 2 members.
Marlinton Fire-Rescue has a total of 29 members, 8 who are EMTs & 4 paramedics. In 2019 the rescue squad had 469 calls & fire had 125.
Marlinton Fire Department currently holds an ISO rating of class 4 & 4Y which lowers homeowners’ insurance rates. There is a $50 yearly fire fee which all residents within their response area may pay. If you pay your fire fee you will not be billed for a fire call to your residence.
Marlinton Fire-Rescue supports local fairs & festivals along with covering sporting events as volunteers.
